Mount Myoko

I had the privilege of restoring a traditional washitsu room inside a beautiful old akiya in the mountains of rural Japan. The walls were finished with shikkui—a natural Japanese plaster crafted from lime, eggshell, seaweed and hemp. Here are some before, during and after photos from the project.
